Star High School is a co-educational, secondary school, owned and run by the Apostles of Jesus Missionaries (AJ), who also own and run Uru Seminary in the Diocese of Moshi.
It is located on the beautiful lower plains of Mount Meru, in the Archdiocese of Arusha, about 45 km from Arusha town, on the Arusha – Mbuguni – Mirerani Road. It borders Msitu wa Mbogo, Kikuletwa, Mbuguni and Kambi ya Tanga villages, in Mbuguni Ward of Meru District.
It was established in January 2007 and is already in need of expansion so that many children who dream of education, aspiring to it may obtain it, as one student said, “in order become good citizens of God’s kingdom.”
While the school currently houses over 200 students, an ever-increasing number of students are waiting. Expansion of dormitories and building of a kitchen and dining hall are needed.
The property itself awaits funding for development of Star Farm, its Church, library and store that will not only provide great learning opportunities for the students, but also provide economic growth for the surrounding community.
Star high school aims to prepare future members of society, who like shining stars, must champion the course of social development and growth by fostering academic excellence, critical thinking skills and a willingness to serve humanity.
We have ‘O’ & ‘A’ level studies, in both science and art subjects, with the following combinations: PCM, PCB, PGM, CBG, HGE, HKL, HGL, HGK, EGM, ECA.
